Metallised cartons has already been utilised by many brands ie thick metallised board is die cut & creased for folding into cartons after printing. This is used for aesthetics and brand differentiation. Similarly, nowadays, metalised paper is now being formed into a icecream cone sleeve.

Metallised Paper Label
Metallised paper labels are more in use, especially because of lower cost, but liquid product packers may prefer metallised film for higher durability reasons. Paper labels usually need a varnish coat for glosss effect.

Metallised Film Label
The traditional reasons for use of a filmic labels over paper has been durability, ability to take shape etc. However, packers are increasingly using metallised film labels for brand differentiation, for packing higher value items. A filmic label also has a more glossy & smooth effect.
